Update - May 09
Since i first did this Page back in April 08 our bikes have changed a fair bit.
Austin
Austin still has his Giant XTC4.5 and his Diamondback S10. However back in January which he was riding to colledge Austin hit a bit of Black ice and buckled his rear derailier (and much more , i think) . He has since then bought a new bike which he rides to colledge. As mentioned in his post , you’re fired, you’re hired (http://malvernredriders.wordpress.com/2009/01/17/youre-fired-youre-hired/) he is the proud rider of a Carrera Vulcan V Spec

(could only find a small picture)
Benni
Benni’s second bike has also changed.Back in June 08 the Apollo excel that i had riden dince 2003 finally gave up the ghost and most of the parts are know currently in storage in the garage. To replace the Excel , for commuting to colledge, i was given VERY GENEROUSLY an Apollo XC.26* which is very adiquate enought for riding to colledge on, and was also very fun before i changed the rear tyre ,which was an almost bould hybrid type. One time i turned up at colledge and broke heavily as i turned tightly to go into the entrance and instead of doing so i ended up doing a perfect 180 ( tyre screech and all) , one of the lads thought i had fallen off.

(again only small picture available)
Thats pretty much every thing up to date.

Quite a range of bikes are used in the Red Riders,
which makes it more interesting!

Yes, a wide range!
But the 05 Carrera can still mix it with the newer bikes!

You should get road bikes, the roads round there are lovely for road riding. Especially with long climbs like the wych (which I can’t remember how to spell…) Wish the roads round me were a bit more like malvern roads

Well even thought we have Mountain Bikes we do often , especially the whyche road and Jubilee Drive, ride on road. This is usually to get to the where we want on the hills or home, which is always fun as its nearly always down hill. That said one of our members is thinking of getting a Road bike as he doesnt do much off road and he lives the other side of the hills to Sixth Form.

Hey,
Im Tom Morris, Plymouth Uni MTB Club Chairman.
If you lads want some more company riding over the easter hols, shown some tracks or lines down the hills you may not have seen or tried, and even try your hand at trail building, im going to be back home from uni in a few weeks. I live round the road from Ben in fruitlands and i was a few years above you at the chase.
I maninly ride Downhill, and over easter I will be out most week nights for a bit of a play on peachfield, and then up for longer stints at the weekend on the trusty steed. I ride a Da Bomb Moab Bomb (custom Build), it may have 7″ of suspension and only nine gears but i can get up most things and going down, well lets just say i dont hang around. Over summer i will have my hardtail kona, another custom job, with me for longer trecks.
So if your interested in some DH, let me know.
